To witness dawn from the top of Mont-Tremblant is an opportunity that comes around once a year, and getting there comes at a price. For most people, it means skiing through the whole night to still be on the mountain when the sun clears the treeline. I shot this during the 24h Tremblant, a relay fundraising event that runs from one morning to the next for children's foundations.

By sunrise the mountain has shed everything ordinary. The December sunrise is slow and majestic, holding its pink hues long enough to make sure every ski warrior gets a chance to see it.
