small car, big world
Give me anything that has four wheels and a bed and I’ll call it freedom. A campervan hands you a whole country on your own clock. You wake up beside a mountain or a stretch of coast, brew coffee wherever you happen to stop and follow the light with no checkout time rushing you out. The bedroom is in the kitchen, the kitchen is behind the wheel and it’s all with you, on the road, at all times. I would not have it any other way.
For this trip we worked with Travellers Autobarn, picked it up near Tokyo, and pointed it wherever the map looked interesting or the weather seemed promising. From there the trip belonged to us.
When I return, I’ll do it all over again, just with an updated itinerary.
